SRINAGAR: As part of the Digital J&K Mission, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta introduced the Artificial Intelligence Framework of Jammu and Kashmir, marking a significant step towards promoting technical advancement and socioeconomic growth in J&K. Prerna Puri, the department’s commissioner secretary for information technology, Minga Sherpa, the director of information, the additional secretary for information technology, and other top executives were there.The Chief Secretary said in a statement following the introduction that this innovative framework establishes a standard in Jammu and Kashmir with the aim of utilising Artificial Intelligence’s (AI) revolutionary potential in a variety of industries and improving the lives of the local populace. The release of the AI Framework, he continued, is a significant step in our aim to embrace cutting-edge technologies and improve governance, public services, and economic growth. This is one of the notable accomplishments of the past few years.Dr. Mehta noted that Jammu and Kashmir has experienced amazing growth in IT services and that the launch of the Digital J&K Mission has resulted in a notable transformation throughout the region. The provision of more than 602 services to citizens is done so online. According to NeSDA rankings of DARPG, J&K is ranked first among all Union Territories, which demonstrates an improvement in the overall governance system throughout Jammu and Kashmir thanks to the use of digital technologies.The Chief Secretary added that J&K’s governance system has changed from the Panchayat level up to the Administrative level, with emphasis on integrating all citizens starting at the ground level. He continued by saying that Jammu and Kashmir now has an accountable, transparent government structure that enables citizens to take part in monitoring development progress thanks to the special platform of Jan Bhagidari (Empowerment) Portal. Dr. Mehta added that Jammu and Kashmir will become a pioneer in AI with the introduction of the Artificial Intelligence Framework, fostering social innovations and realising the goal of a technologically advanced and digitally empowered Jammu and Kashmir.He continued by saying that this revolutionary framework would enable our government, people, and businesses to fully utilise AI and promote sustainable growth throughout the area. PrernaPuri, Commissioner Secretary of Information Technology, gave a thorough presentation on the J&K AI Framework at the event. She went into great detail about the framework’s main goals and the expected benefits for the UT in terms of running its operations more efficiently while upholding the principles of accountability and transparency.
