CS reviews developmental scenario of District Samba

SAMBA: In district Samba today, CS Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta undertook a thorough evaluation of ongoing development projects and landmark efforts covering many sectors. The main goal of the conference was to evaluate the state of the district's ongoing development initiatives and various schemes. Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, SSP Samba Benam Tosh, and the leaders of several departments and divisions operating inside the district were present during the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma provided a thorough sector-by-sector presentation of the ongoing projects and flagship programmes being run by several departments in the district during the meeting. The Degree College in Purmandal, the Bus Stand under JMRDA in Vijaypur, and the Nari Niketan building in Samba were noted as notable projects. There were also updates on the upgrading of the current Municipal facility, the building of a multipurpose complex at the Samba bus stop, the building of the Uttarbehni bridge over the Dewar, many road projects and the building of the OPD block of the District Hospital Samba. Additionally, the Chief Secretary went over the status of ongoing initiatives, initiatives, flagship programmes, and financial developments for the fiscal years 2022–2023 and 2023–2024.Horticulture, National Rural Livelihood Mission, National Urban Livelihood Mission, Agriculture, Education, Health, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, SBM-G, Jal Jeevan Mission, PMGSY, PWD, and stalled projects were just a few of the numerous departments that were thoroughly examined. Accelerating the work was emphasised as a major priority throughout the review. The heads of other departments also offered updates on how their own plans were doing right now. During the meeting, a number of instructions were given, with the Labour and Employment department placing a major emphasis on reaching zero unemployment in the district. Each panchayat needed to have an adequate number of instructors, and schools needed to have female restrooms that were always operational.The Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department was instructed to create one PACS for each panchayat and concentrate on producing poultry and milk products for export. The Agriculture department was given orders to prioritise the production of products including citrus, dragon fruit, and strawberries, enhance crop intensity, and hold workshops in conjunction with SKUAST. By identifying and closing performance gaps when compared to other states, the objective is to elevate J&K to the top spot in horticultural production. The Nasha Mukt Abhyan (drug-free campaign), with a directive to establish a drug-free Samba district, was also covered in the study. Dr. Mehta praised the revenue department's efforts to georeference cadastral maps, digitise Jamabandis, and address the status of Roshni land. The chief secretary emphasised how crucial it is to make land girdawari accessible online. Authorities were asked to speed up operations and meet deadlines in the PMGSY and PWD domains. The Jal Jeevan Mission's development was examined, with a focus on quickening its conclusion. The Chief Secretary instructed the Jal Shakti Department to accomplish all tasks within the allotted timeframes while reviewing the department. It was stated at the RDD review that independent reports addressing the SBM(G) from the village must be requested in order to confirm that the communities are truly clean. He demanded that all legacy garbage be taken out of gramme panchayats. He gave the order that all villages should become plastic-free and meet their PMAY(G) goals by the designated deadlines. As it relates to NRLM, the Chief Secretary urged raising the average income of Self-Help Group (SHG) members by giving them the support they require in terms of marketing, branding, and value addition of their products. The Chief Secretary noted the non-operational industrial units during the evaluation of the Industries and Commerce department and urged the district administration to investigate any potential causes so that these could be made operational right away. He noted that the area has excellent potential for industrial growth, and if that potential is fully realised, Samba will likely surpass all other industrial districts in the UT. The material recovery facility and compost pit shed in the Municipal Committee Bari-Brahmana, the improvement of WSS BHALOORA under JJM in Block Rajpura, and the improvement of WSS Rai Patti under JJM in Block Ghagwal were all inaugurated by Dr. Mehta as part of this thorough review. In order to streamline government operations and make sure that citizens are not excessively inconvenienced by visiting government offices, the chief secretary emphasised the significance of discovering new services that may be converted to an online manner. Dr. Mehta also spoke with business delegations, BDC members, and DDC Chairperson Keshav Dutt Sharma and members.
