As she arrived at a civic event held in her honour at Sindhu Ghat, Murmu stated that the Sindhu river is ingrained in every Indian's historical, cultural, and spiritual consciousness. According to a statement released by Rashtrapati Bhavan, she stated that people in India have a particular fondness and respect for the people of Ladakh and are aware of the efforts made by the region's citizens to the nation's defence.According to President Murmu, this region's residents are renowned for their bravery and Buddhist faith. She claimed that through Ladakh, the eternal and living teachings of Lord Buddha were dispersed over distant and vast nations. According to the president, Ladakh offers countless opportunities for the growth of ecotourism, adventure tourism, and spiritual tourism. According to her, there is a lot of room for growth in the wellness and health tourism industries in this area.The fact that Ladakh is still home to numerous indigenous communities' unique traditions is something to be happy about, according to President Murmu. She claimed that people are aware of the love and reverence for the natural world that are shown in tribal groups' artwork, dances, songs, and way of life. Murmu emphasised that in line with the "lifestyle for the environment," "we should preserve the lifestyle of tribal communities." She suggested that it would be beneficial to persuade the residents of those villages to embrace the virtues of contemporary development.This meeting point of modernity and tradition, according to Murmu, would prove to be the best route for sustained development for all inhabitants, especially those of Ladakh. SRINAGAR:The Meteorological Department (MeT) has forecast dry weather through November 2nd, with the probability of light rain or snow on Saturday in certain areas of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the MeT representative, the majority of J&K is seeing clear to partly cloudy weather today. According to the local weather station, October 25–28 will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. October 9: Mostly overcast, with sporadic upper levels experiencing light rain or snow." Emoluments Governed By Terms Of Service: Army On Grant To Next Of Kin Of Agniveer

New Delhi, Oct 23: The Indian Army expressed sympathy for the bereaved family of Agniveer Gawate Akshay Laxman on Sunday and attempted to dispel any confusion over the next of kin's compensation by stating that it is "governed by the relevant terms & conditions of service of the soldier." The Army said on its X account on Sunday that Agniveer Laxman died while performing his duties in Siachen."In view of conflicting messages on social media regarding financial assistance to the Next of Kin of the deceased, it was important to clarify that emoluments due to the Next of Kin were governed by the relevant terms and conditions of service of the soldier," said the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI), IHQ of the Ministry of Defence (Army).The non-contributory insurance sum of Rs 48 lakh is the amount of emoluments permitted for a deceased battle casualty, in accordance with the rules of engagement of Agniveers. Agniveer (30%) contributed Seva Nidhi, and the government matched it with an equivalent amount plus interest. Amount ex parted: Rs 44 lakh. Payment of the remaining duration from the date of death until the four-year period is finished (in this case, more than Rs 13 lakh). an 8-lakh rupee contribution from the Armed Forces Battle Casualty Fund. immediate financial support from the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) in the amount of Rs 30,000, the ADG PI wrote.The Army honoured the deceased Agniveer, an operator who perished in the Siachen glacier's terrain, earlier on Sunday. Indian Army pays tribute to Agniveer Gawate Akshay Laxman

NEW DELHI: On Sunday, the Indian Army honoured Agniveer Gawate Akshay Laxman, an operator who died while performing his duties in the dangerous Siachen glacier area. The grieving family received the sincere sympathies of the Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army. "They will march again when the bugle calls, having gone silent while camped in the snow." "Fire and Fury Corps extends its deepest condolences to the family and salutes the supreme sacrifice made by Agniveer (Operator) Gawate Akshay Laxman in the line of duty in the unforgiving heights of Siachen," the group wrote on X.In a social media message, the Indian Army stated that it is standing by the grieving family during this difficult time. Siachen Glacier, which is located close to the Indo-Pak Line of Control, is renowned for being the world's highest war site. It is the second-biggest glacier in the world and the largest in India. Cabinet approves Rs 20,773.7 cr for transmission line to evacuate power from Ladakh

NEW DELHI: In order to build a transmission line for the purpose of evacuating power from a 13 GW renewable energy project in Ladakh, the Union Cabinet approved the project on Wednesday for Rs 20,773.7 crore. In his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans to establish a 7.5 GW solar park in Ladakh. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) created a plan to install a 12 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and a 13 GW Renewable Energy (RE) generation capacity in Pang, Ladakh, following a thorough field survey. According to an official announcement, building an interstate transmission system will be required in order to evacuate this enormous amount of power.It further stated that the Green Energy Corridor (GEC) Phase-II - Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) for 13 GW Renewable Energy Project in Ladakh has been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA). The transmission line that will be used to evacuate this power will travel across Punjab and Himachal Pradesh before arriving at Kaithal, Haryana, and connecting to the national grid there. The project is expected to be operational by the 2029–2030 fiscal year, with a projected cost of Rs 20,773.70 crore, including 40 percent funding from the national government (Rs 8,309.48 crore). Demining operation in Leh, 175 mines destroyed

LEH: According to officials, the Army carried out a demining operation in three locations within the Leh district and removed 175 mines. Locals in Ladakh who live along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) requested that this be done, hence it has been done. Santosh Sukhadeve, deputy commissioner for Leh, wrote on X, "On behalf of Phobrang, Yourgo, and Lukung villagers, we thank the Fire and Fury Corps for their prompt action in fencing and clearing the area by successfully destroying over 175 mines." Soldier martyred, 3 missing as avalanche hits army contingent at Mount Kun, Ladakh

LEH: An avalanche near Mount Kun, Ladakh, resulted in the death of one soldier and the disappearance of three others, according to officials on Monday. According to military officials, a group of about 40 soldiers from the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) and the Army Adventure Wing were engaged in routine training exercises close to Mount Kun (Ladakh). "Such exercises are standard practice during this season, aiming to provide realistic mountaineering training for HAWS participants as part of "Train the Trainer" concept," they stated.The sources did note that the crew encountered an unexpected avalanche on their training ascent on October 8. "Four of our hardworking employees were buried beneath. Rescue efforts were launched right away and are currently going strong, they said. A daring search operation is currently underway and has reportedly turned up the mortal remains of one victim of the avalanche. "Despite inclement weather and heavy snow pile up, search and rescue operations continue to locate and recover others trapped under the massive snow deposit," sources said. Congress, NC sweep LAHDC-Kargil polls, win 22 seats

KARGIL: Officials announced on Sunday that the National Conference and the Congress had won a total of 22 seats in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council-Kargil poll. The first election after Ladakh was divided into a Union Territory as a result of the repeal of Article 370 of the Constitution was held for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil. On October 4, elections for 26 council seats were held. Four voting members are proposed by the administration for the 30-member council. The National Conference (NC), which is now the single-largest party, got 12 seats, according to the officials, while its ally Congress won 10 seats. According to them, the BJP won two seats and two Independent candidates also won.74,026 of the 95,388 eligible voters cast ballots in the election, yielding a 77.61 percent turnout. On October 1, the current council, led by NC representative Feroz Ahmad Khan, finished its five-year term. Before October 11, the new council will be in place. Despite announcing a pre-election cooperation, the NC and Congress only fielded 17 and 22 candidates, respectively. Both parties claimed that the agreement was only applicable to regions where the BJP was a formidable opponent. The BJP ran 17 candidates this time around, up from the previous election when it won one seat and eventually added two PDP councillors to bring its total to three.Along with 25 Independents, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tried its luck for four seats.
