NEW DELHI, Nov 3: With regard to the ongoing border dispute with China in eastern Ladakh, India's outlook emphasises respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations, as well as peaceful dispute resolution and adherence to international law, Chief of Army Staff Gen. Manoj Pande stated on Friday. During the Chanakya Defence Dialogue, General Pande stated that India is expanding its defence wings globally and that the Army is eager to increase the extent and magnitude of cooperative military training and exercises with friendly foreign partner countries.Examining the contemporary geopolitical upheavals, he stressed the importance of recognising the "renewed currency" of physical power and the increasing importance of national security in international politics. In the midst of hopelessness and shifting geopolitics, the Chief of Army Staff referred to India as the "bright spot." Without mentioning any specifics, Gen. Pande stated, "Our outlook emphasises respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations, equality of all, peaceful resolution of disputes, avoidance of use of force and adherence to international rules, laws and regulations."India's dedication to constructively involving all stakeholders, according to the Chief of Army Staff, has been "unwavering and enduring" over time."We are aware of our place in the developing international framework in the military sphere. He expressed his desire to expand the breadth and depth of their cooperative training and exercises, as well as their interoperability, sub-regional viewpoints, and exchange of best practises with friendly international partner countries. He declared, "We are establishing defence wings in new locations around the world to give fillip to our defence cooperation outreach." The Army Chief said, "The challenges we face are significant, but so are the opportunities and our collective wisdom and strength."He noted that India is becoming more and more prominent and that it has a voice that is "distinct, rooted in Indian ethos and effective in articulating the concerns of the Global South" on the international scene. "India, together with our partners and like-minded nations, shares shared interests and principles like democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. According to General Pande, "this alignment of shared values creates a solid foundation for cooperative security efforts.""Our initiatives are bedrock in the Indian way," he stated, adding that "the spin-offs of these collaborative efforts are not restricted to security but transcend into the economic realm, innovation and technology, capacity building, multilateral problem solving, and diplomacy as well." The Chief of Army Staff added that technology is changing war fighting and strategic competitiveness in geopolitics like never before.
