Property of absconding terrorist seized in Awantipora: Police

SRINAGAR: Authorities in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir stated today that they had attached the immovable property of a terrorist who was escaping from Noorpora hamlet in Awantipora on Friday as part of their ongoing campaign against terror groups. According to a police spokesman, Police Awantipora has attached the property of terror handler Feroz Ganie, son of Naber Ganie, which is spread over one kanal and fifteen marlas of orchard land, under Section 83 CrPC on the directions of the Additional Sessions Pulwama (NIA Court). Today, the revenue authorities, police, and village leaders carried out the order."The said terrorist involved in case FIR No. 36/2023 U/S 18,20,23,25,38 and 39 UA(P) act and 7/25 Indian Arms Act of Police Station Tral was declared as proclaimed offender by Hon'ble special NIA Court Pulwama U/S 82 CrPC earlier after absconding terrorist failed to appear before investigating agency," stated the statement. Dr. Karan Singh : Political link between public and administration missing in J&K

JAMMU: Veteran Congress leader Karan Singh claimed on Friday that elections are the only way to restore the vital connection that Jammu and Kashmir's people have with their government. In order to resolve public issues, he also identified Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) as the essential intermediary between the people and the administration. Singh argued in favour of holding the assembly elections, stating that until a government is established by popular vote, the issue in Jammu and Kashmir cannot be regarded as resolved. "MLAs act as a conduit between the public and the executive branch. On the fringes of General Zorawar Singh's conference, Singh informed reporters that elections are the only way to restore the missing link in the political system and build a government that reflects the will of the people. According to him, J&K has not held an assembly for the past five years. "There is no political connection between the populace and the government. The management is going about its business. They are implementing fresh programmes. He stated, "The people are at their locations with a broken connection to the administration. The head of Congress emphasised that a strong opposition is necessary for a functioning democracy. "A democracy requires a robust opposition as well as a strong administration. It is not optimal to have one dominant force.After decades of Congress domination, the BJP is now in the driver's seat. It must be in balance," he declared. He stated that the opposition coalition INDIA was established with the intention of running a cohesive campaign in elections. "It will benefit the nation if they can accomplish that and grow stronger. There is no need to forecast whether they will win or not. Democracy benefits from a robust opposition, he continued. Regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict, Singh assessed the circumstances as perilous. "While we thought wars were a thing of the past, Ukraine-Russia war and the Hamas-Israel conflict are a grim reality in our lifetime" , he stated. He argued that the best way to end the conflict is through a two-state solution and emphasised that the US must actively seek and carry out this strategy. In order to avert catastrophes, Singh advocated caution and preventive actions. In addition, he supported a cohesive approach to studying the Dogras' history while recognising the unique contributions of each ruler. "We ought to put the Dogras' past front and centre. 3 dead as car falls into gorge in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR : In the Kishtwar district on Friday, a car carrying three people went off the road and into a gorge, killing the occupants. Three people lost their lives in an accident with the Alto automobile (Jk06B-I909) this afternoon close to Kandni Kishtwar. They are Dhyan Singh of Gandho, Madan Lal of Sarror, and Rakesh Kumar of Badano Thatri. A police official confirmed it, stating that an investigation has been launched and a case has been filed. Samba police arrests four hard core criminals

SAMBA: Four virulent attackers who killed a woman and police under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and Police Station, Vijaypur, respectively, have been apprehended by police under the general supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh. The Rakh Barotian Vijaypur residents Mohammad Ashraf, alias Ashu, son of Roshan Din, Liaqat Ali, alias Laaki, son of Babur, and Mam Hussain, son of Babu, have all been recognised as the apprehended culprits. One other criminal has also been identified.Four hardened criminals have been apprehended: three were involved in an attack on police in case FIR No.132/2023 U/Ss 307, 382, 332, 353, 148, 149, 34 IPC of Police Station Vijaypur; during their patrol duty, the heroin smugglers and their supporters attacked them near Rakh Barotian last month. Another criminal was apprehended in case FIR No.247/2023 U/Ss 307, 452, 323, 147, 506 IPC of Police Station, Bari Brahmana, where a woman was attacked with a sharp object, leaving her critically injured and requiring hospitalisation.The police team led by SHO Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak, and SHO Bari Brahmana, Sumit Sharma, with the oversight of SDPO Vijaypur, Rohit Kumar, SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary, has apprehended the hardened offenders. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh, Samba police have apprehended 142 hardened offenders in the last nine months, and the district's miscreants, criminals, and Gunda members are all facing severe legal consequences. 4 dead after truck falls off bridge in Jammu

JAMMU:According to accounts, a truck went off a bridge in Jammu on Friday, killing four people. The tragedy happened on the Jhajjarkotli NH44, according to an official. A truck with the registration number RJ13GB/5654 lost control, struck the bridge divider, and then fell from a height of around 80 feet. Terror suspect held in Kathua
