Div Com reviews land issues for Development of Industrial Estates in districts

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar examined today the Industries & Commerce Department's land-related concerns as well as the creation of Industrial Estates in the Districts. The Div Com thoroughly examined the land acquisition process for industrial estates in every district of the Jammu division, as well as the obstacles that the departments of the stakeholders were facing. It was advised that every district has land designated for the construction of industrial estates. The Div Com requested that representatives from the Industries department visit districts to verify the viability of the designated land.In addition to the progress made in resolving the land-related issues, trite discussions were held regarding the development of new estates and the augmentation of existing ones. Each case's current status was reported to the Div Com by the concerned Deputy Commissioner. It was advised that the majority of the problems have been fixed and that the remaining ones will be done so shortly. DCs were instructed by the Div Com to work with the Industries Department to resolve the outstanding land issues. In order to seek coordination for timely issue resolution, the Industries Department employees were also asked to maintain communication with DCs and revenue officers.The Department of Commerce gave DCs instructions to draw boundaries on the designated land and turn it over to the Industries and Commerce Department so that Industrial Estates could be established. Resolving the land issues for the approach roads to the sites was another directive given to the DCs. In order to create a supportive environment for the establishment of new industries, the Div Com urged the District Administration and relevant departments to take proactive measures in advance. It was requested of the Deputy Commissioners to create development plans for industrial estates in their individual districts. The Division Committee emphasised the necessity of creating industrial parks in each of the division's districts.Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma of Samba, MD SIDCO/SICOP of Inderjeet, Director Industries of Arun Manhas, Chief Engineers of JPDCL of Jal Shakti, DFO Social Forestry, Assistant Commissioner Central, and other Deputy Commissioners participated in the meeting via video conference, as did concerned officers. 4 New Industrial Estates To Come Up Across 3 Districts Of J&K

JAMMU, Nov 25: The administrative approval for the establishment of four new Industrial Estates in J&K was granted by the Administrative Council (AC), which convened under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, the Lieutenant Governor's principal secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, the chief secretary, and advisor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar. Among them are the industrial estates that will be developed over 1379 kanals of land with an investment of Rs 136.65 crores at Budhi Kathua, Medicity Jammu, Chandgam, and Lelhar Pulwama. In addition to drawing in investment, the projects will increase employment in the community and are anticipated to create over 11497 jobs in the private sector.The infrastructure of the new industrial estates will be carefully planned, including internal road construction, electricity availability, a centralised water distribution system, rainwater collection, roadside vegetation, and plantations. Additionally, the development will entail the construction of other facilities using cutting-edge modern technology as well as Centralised Effluent Treatment plants set up on new patterns in accordance with National Green Tribunal regulations. Project completion deadlines are set at eighteen months. The creation of new industrial estates is consistent with the government's pledge to support entrepreneurship and industrial development in J&K. 1 dead, 1 injured after house collapses in Udhampur district

UDHAMPUR: According to police, a kutcha house collapsed in ward number one of Pattangarh Panchayat of Udhampur District in Jammu and Kashmir, leaving one person dead and another injured. The incident was verified by Udhampur ASP Anwar Ul Haq, who stated, "One person has been confirmed dead and another is injured." He added that after learning about the incident, a police squad raced to the scene and removed the injured person from the rubble. For medical attention, the injured party has been moved to Chenani's Community Health Centre. According to ASP Anwar Ul Haq, more research is being done to determine what caused the house to collapse.In the state of Jammu and Kashmir, deaths from houses collapsing are not uncommon. Cold Wave Conditions Prevail As Night Temp Dips In Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 25: Saturday saw the return of cold wave conditions, with most locations seeing minimum temperatures below freezing. The Kashmir valley had seen a brief reprieve earlier in the week. The weather slightly improved on Friday, but on Saturday, there was a cold wave throughout the valley as the minimum temperature dropped below freezing again in most places, including Srinagar. According to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar's forecast, the next 24 hours are likely to be mostly cloudy and dry. It stated that November 27 and 28 would also see mostly cloudy weather.The MeT office stated that from November 29 to 30, there is a chance of light rain or snow in certain higher areas of Jammu and Kashmir. It also stated that from December 1 to 5, the weather will stay partly to mostly cloudy. The MeT office stated that there is a good chance of shallow to moderate fog over many areas of Kashmir Division through November 28. On Saturday, Srinagar recorded a low of -1.0°C, which was -1.1°C below average for this time of year in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.Pahalgam, the tourist hotspot in the Kashmir valley, continued to be the coldest place in the valley with a low of -3.4°C on Saturday, -1.0°C below average. On Saturday, the minimum temperature in Qazigund, on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, was -0.8°C, while Kokerng recorded 1.5°C. Kupwara's temperature of -0.5°C was typical for the district of North Kashmir on the frontier. The famous Kashmiri ski resort, Gulmarg, saw a low of -1.0°C on Saturday, which was 1.1°C above average, according to the MeT office. Large number of people pay last respects to Captain M V Pranjal in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: In moving scenes, a sizable crowd paid their final respects to Captain M V Pranjal, who was killed in action against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. On Friday night, his mortal remains were transported by air to Bengaluru and then brought to his parents' residence in the nearby Anekal Taluk. Paying respects, mourners filed past Capt. Pranjal's body. Opposition Leader R Ashoka and Rural Bangalore MP D K Suresh were among those who paid respect to the deceased and sent their condolences to the family today. Following a wreath-laying ceremony, the state government and the Army presented Pranjal with a guard of honour.For the final ceremonies, his mortal remains will be carried in a procession to a crematorium in Kudlu Gate. The wife and parents of the 29-year-old member of the 63 Rashtriya Rifles who died on Wednesday during a firefight with terrorists in the Rajouri sector are still alive. Following his remains' arrival here last night, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid their final respects at HAL Airport. Siddaramaiah, expressing condolences, said the family of the martyr would receive Rs 50 lakh. World Heritage Week: Ajatshatru Singh visits Dogra Art Museum

JAMMU: Senior BJP leader and former minister Ajatshatru Singh expressed delight and happiness that the Dogra Art Museum and Archives Reference Library contained important documents. He also stated that he is actively working to further enhance this repository in order to protect the priceless legacy for future generations. Ajatshatru Singh visited the Dogra Art Museum and Archives Reference Library, Mubarak Mandi, as part of World Heritage Week. Singh toured the library and museum, demonstrating a deep interest in the materials on display and their superb preservation.Assistant Director of the Archives Reference Library Dr. Sangeeta Sharma gave him a detailed briefing on the rare saved documents housed in this important and prestigious library. Speaking to the media, Singh revealed that, while reviewing several documents containing contributions from the Dogra kings, particularly Maharaja Hari Singh, he became quite emotional. He claimed that while the general public is only aware of the courage displayed by the Dogra rulers, they should also be aware of the other enormous contributions these rulers made to the welfare of the people living in this former State. "Only when such rare documents and information are preserved properly will the future generations learn about it," said Singh. In order to ensure that future generations recognise the importance of their ancestors' legacy and the debt of respect they owe us, he further pledged to use all of his resources to expand the collection of rare and valuable documents in this repository.
