Speaking to reporters after the Bharatiya Janata Party appeared to make significant progress in the assembly vote results in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, Azad claimed that the Congress has failed to address the problems that minorities face nationwide."In the past twenty to twenty-five days, I've seen that the Congress, which was supposed to be the voice of minority rights, hasn't spoken about minority issues. Minorities are no longer on Congress's agenda. Azad, stated a former Congress leader. Mughal Road reopens for one-way traffic after 3 days

POONCH: After being restricted to traffic for three days, the historic Mughal Road was reopened for traffic on Sunday, according to officials. Three days earlier, significant snowfall in Pir Ki Gali and surrounding areas forced the closure of the route that connected Shopian in Kashmir with the districts of Rajouri and Poonch in the Jammu division. According to an official, snow removal work was finished today, and one-way traffic was once again allowed on the route. Amid dry weather, conditions, minimum temp plummets in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: As there isn't expected to be any precipitation in Kashmir until December 10, the region's nighttime temperature dropped on Sunday. The two coldest places were Gulmarg and Pahalgam, with respective temperatures of minus 3.6 and minus 2.4 degrees Celsius, according to representatives of the local meteorological authority. Nonetheless, temperatures rose above freezing in a number of locations, including Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital, where a low of 1.4 degrees Celsius was recorded. A minimum temperature of 2.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kokernag, while Kupwara recorded a temperature of 1.2 degrees Celsius. DGP reviews welfare measures for families of fallen policemen

JAMMU: DGP R R Swain of Jammu and Kashmir presided over a meeting on Saturday to discuss welfare options for the families of police officers who gave their life in the battle against terrorism. In addition to reviving the services devoted to the welfare of these families, he gave the officers instructions to pool their "hearts and souls" in order to identify any issues or problems that the families of the fallen policemen may be facing and submit them to police headquarters within a certain amount of time. "The families of the deceased heroes are members of the J&K Police pariwar, or family, and it is our responsibility to look after them in every way. Seeing how these families are doing has to be our top priority, according to Swain.He gave the ADGP instructions to dispatch sympathetic personnel to engage with the families. In order to foster an emotional connection between the families and the police, he also advised that each officer adopt a family. This will enable the officers to care for the wards of the fallen policeman in an understanding manner. "It is not the help and assistance that matters but connecting with these families including the parents of the fallen heroes is more important," he stated. He gave the officers instructions to make a personal connection with every member of the martyr families and to give them the same amount of time as "we spend with our own family members."He stated, "such families should be assured that the institutional strength of J&K Police is with them." The officers must also discover some inspirational stories of the departed heroes to share with the family members. According to a police spokesman, talks were place over a scheme that would see DSPs and inspectors paying visits to martyrs' families to inquire about their well-being. "This will supplement the assistance that these families now receive. Crime branch chargesheets 3 brothers for ₹43-lac land fraud in Jammu

JAMMU: Three brothers are accused in a ₹43 lakh land scam in a 253-page chargesheet released by the Crime Branch's economic crimes unit on Saturday. According to an official spokesperson, they were accused of forming a criminal conspiracy and robbing a guy from Gandhi Nagar of ₹43 lakh. A case under sections 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code was filed against them at the Crime Branch police station in Jammu. Manmohan Singh, the complainant, was tricked into signing a contract to sell the accused's 51 marlas in Birpur, the Bari Brahmana neighbourhood of Samba.Following the transaction, the complainant's special power of attorney was revoked by Birpur village residents Narayan Singh, Suram Singh, and Chain Singh. The plaintiff had been duped by the siblings into believing that the government would receive a substantial payment for the land it was acquiring. The complainant was persuaded to pay each of the accused ₹17 lakh by the accused. All defendants executed a selling agreement and a special power of attorney in December 2021. The accused then went to the Jammu collector of land acquisition and informed him that the complainant's special power of attorney had been revoked and that the accused would get the money into their accounts from the collector. No dilution in reservation of Gujjars, Bakerwals in J&K: BJP

JAMMU: In an effort to allay concerns, the BJP has reaffirmed its commitment to the ST community's reservations and stated unequivocally that the Gujjar community's reservations in Jammu and Kashmir will not be diminished. At a news conference held here on Saturday, Gulam Ali Khatana, a senior BJP leader and MP for the Rajya Sabha, made this declaration.Speaking to media representatives, Khatana was accompanied by former Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, former MP Choudhary Talib Hussain, BJP general secretary Sunil Sharma, BJP senior leader Devinder Singh Rana, president of the ST Morcha Ch. Roshan Hussain, and senior ST leader Arshad Choudhary. They stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had promised a tribal community delegation that the 10% reservation they had been granted would not be reduced under any circumstances. According to Khatana, the J&K BJP is also in support of the Modi government's promise. The MP claimed that the ST community in Jammu and Kashmir endured decades of suffering under the leadership of the PDP, the NC, and the Congress, and that the Narendra Modi government was the only one to bring them justice.This government made a historic choice by granting this section reservation in order to improve its socioeconomic status. As the STs are switching their allegiance to the BJP after realising that it is the only political party that genuinely cares about their right to a dignified life, he urged them to trust the BJP and not fall for the false propaganda spread by such political parties. These parties had been taking this community for granted and were now feeling insecure. Ch. Talib Hussain reaffirmed that the BJP will keep working for the advancement and well-being of all racial and ethnic groups in Jammu and Kashmir, with a special emphasis on tribal people and other marginalised ethnic groups. He urged the Paharis and Gujjars of Jammu and Kashmir to fortify their long-standing solidarity, togetherness, and peaceful coexistence. Security forces neutralize improvised explosive device in Rajouri

RAJOURI: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Topa and Hill Tak areas conducted a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) during which they found and successfully demolished an improvised explosive device (IED). The Rajouri police and soldiers carried out the operation based on particular intelligence about suspicious movement. "On specific input about some suspicious movement, a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched by Rajouri Police & Army in Topa, Hill Tak areas under the jurisdiction of Police Station Darhal," said the police of Jammu and Kashmir.
