Mehbooba : BJP Delaying Local Bodies Polls In J&K As It Realised It Will Be Wiped Out

SRINAGAR, Sep 27: Mehbooba Mufti , PDP chief, said on Wednesday that the BJP is "delaying" the panchayat and local body elections in Jammu and Kashmir because it has "sensed defeat" and suggested that, if it wins back power, the ruling party at the federal level may abolish the electoral process nationwide. The BJP is postponing the poll because they understand that they would be completely destroyed in Jammu and that the parties and systems they tried to impose in Kashmir are failing because the population is not ready to accept them.The previous chief minister of J-K claimed that the BJP used to "indulge in a drama" and demonstrate to the entire world that they were in charge of organising elections for panchayats and local bodies in J-K. "I believe they have stopped this farce now. On the one hand, these individuals claim before the Supreme Court that things have changed for the better in J-K since Article 370 was repealed and that the populace is content. On the other hand, the same government now asserts that J-K's security (situation) prevents the holding of elections, she said.You can see for yourself how many contradictions there are, she said. Mehbooba claimed that the actual cause was that all of the BJP's "experiments" in J-K, particularly in the valley, had been a failure. "They attempted to develop a hybrid political structure, but it was unsuccessful. The people of Jammu have turned against them; they are out on the streets; and they are aware that the BJP has duped them by inciting them to support Kashmir, by inflicting losses upon them, by inciting conflict among J-K residents, and by sowing Hindu-Muslim division.The BJP, according to the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, does not accept the Constitution and seeks to overthrow the nation's democratic system from J-K. "The BJP will end the election system not only in J-K, but possibly in the entire country in the coming years," she claimed, if it wins the Lok Sabha elections and returns to power. India will soon emerge as global economic powerhouse: PM

GUJARAT: The goal, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is to make India a global growth engine. He also predicted that India will soon become a global economic superpower. Speaking during a celebration to honour the conclusion of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit's 20 years, Modi claimed that while the idea for a "Vibrant Gujarat" was first planted as a modest seed, it has since grown into a large tree. "We created Vibrant Gujarat to transform the state into India's economic engine." After 2014, our goal has been to transform India into a global growth engine, he told an audience of executives and industrialists. We are at a point when, in his words, "India will soon emerge as a global economic powerhouse." The prime minister promised that India would be one of the top three economies in the world "in front of your eyes" in a few years.Modi emphasised how the Vibrant Gujarat events, which had humble beginnings, have grown into an institution and that several governments have since imitated it by holding their own investment summits. Modi compared the success of Vibrant Gujarat and how it went through several stages to Swami Vivekanada's observation that every effort goes through three stages: first it is derided, then it encounters opposition, and eventually it is accepted, especially when the idea is ahead of its time. The prime minister added that the success of Vibrant Gujarat happened at a time when the federal government (the previous UPA administration) was ''indifferent'' to the state's economic development. Jaishankar : India-Russia Relations “Very, Very Steady”

New York, Sep 27: According to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, India-Russia relations have remained "very, very steady," and "we take great care" to ensure that they are healthy. In a conversation on Tuesday at the Council on Foreign Relations in this city, Jaishankar claimed that after the conflict in the Ukraine in February 2022, Russia's relations with Europe and the West had been "so severely disrupted" that Moscow was now looking to Asia and other regions of the world. He noted that both the Soviet era and the post-Soviet era have occurred, adding that "the India-Russia relationship has actually held very, very steadily." "I believe there is an understanding in both nations that needing to get along and wanting to get along has some sort of structural justification as large powers on the Asian continent. After speaking before the 78th UN General Assembly, Jaishankar said, "We take tremendous effort to make sure the partnership is working. Even though Russia is dispersed throughout both Europe and Asia, according to Jaishankar, it has traditionally viewed itself as a European force. "My expectation would be" that, he said, ostensibly alluding to the sanctions imposed by the US on Moscow as a result of its invasion of Ukraine. Its relations with Europe and the West have been badly affected since 2022.According to Jaishankar, "Russia is actually turning to Asia and to other parts of the world, but primarily to Asia because that's where there is a lot of economic activity and it is also an Asian power even though it has not always seen itself as that." "In fact, I believe Russia will make very determined efforts to forge substitute ties, many of which will be in Asia. And this would be reflected in commerce and economy, perhaps in other areas as well. "I know that China-Russia would have a particular profile and salience in this, but I would also say that our own relationship with Russia has been extremely stable since the mid-50s," he continued.And it's interesting to note that over the past 70 years in world politics, practically all of the connections between the US and Russia, Russia and China, and Europe and Russia have seen significant ups and downs. Although there have been both extremely good and very awful times in that relationship, the two countries' ties have remained remarkably stable. He requested that all of the member states and UTs provide primary attention to issues that affect everyone as a whole, such as the country's cooperative movement, the school dropout rate, and starvation. No youngster in the nation should continue to be malnourished, according to the home ministry. He asserted that lowering the school dropout rate is everyone's responsibility and that encouraging the cooperative movement will help the nation's more than 60 crore citizens advance towards prosperity. In order to benefit the nation's farmers, he urged all member states and UTs to adopt natural and organic farming. He stated that the entire country is supporting the state at this time of need and pledged to provide all assistance from the Centre to the Himachal Pradesh administration in handling the situation brought on by the recent floods. The Northern Zonal Council responded positively to the home minister's request by applauding Chandrayaan-3's outstanding performance, the world's recognition of India's G20 leadership, and the passage of the women's reservation bill. Along with others, the meeting included participation from the chief ministers of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, the lieutenant governors of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, and the administrator of Chandigarh.
