DGP : Security grid on borders, hinterlands alert to thwart nefarious designs of Pak-backed elements
JAMMU: Dilbag Singh, the director general of police for Jammu and Kashmir, stated on Thursday that the security grid around the borders and in the hinterlands is vigilant and working to thwart the evil plans of elements that are supported by Pakistan and are hostile to the nation. He claimed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want peace and are aware of Pakistan's criminal insanity in trying to incite the youth to rebel against their own people. "The security grid on the borders and within the hinterlands is alert and active to thwart nefarious designs of Pakistan-backed anti-national elements," Singh said during a daylong trip of the Udhampur and Reasi districts, where he met with trainee officers and jawans. The main source of militancy, according to the DGP, is Pakistan.He continued by saying that the Union Territory's police and other security services were committed to neutralising and eliminating militancy there. He claimed that successful operations were carried out and will keep doing so to eradicate the militancy's remains. According to Singh, there are now fewer active terrorists present, and attempts are being made to get rid of the rest. The DGP claimed that thanks to the ongoing efforts of the Jammu Kashmir Police and the "sacrifices of our fallen heroes," people in the Union Territory are living normal lives, sending their children to school, and conducting other business activities fearlessly. Every platform in the nation has recognised and praised the valiant efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, he said, adding that he is happy to be in charge of such a brave group. In response to the incident in Kokernag, the DGP stated, "We need to figure out how to react better so that security forces don't lose lives." The DGP stated, "Over the last few years, we have tested ourselves to the maximum and overcame obstacles resulting in the changed situation," in reference to the areas where there had previously been no police presence. Police and other security forces are maintaining control. They are in charge of every region. Regardless of who they may be, we have made sure that the law is implemented against stone throwers and instigators, the DGP added. He warned the aspiring officers, "We have to deal with anti-national and anti-social elements strictly while taking care of the common people." The DGP told Border Battalion recruits at Talwara in Reasi that a special emphasis must be placed on training them for today's border issues, including narco-terrorism, infiltration, and drone droppings. In addition, he added, they ought to receive training on how to safeguard citizens during border emergencies. According to the DGP, these trainees should be introduced to the contemporary instruments used to keep an eye on the situation and other border operations.
