NEW DELHI, Jan 28: Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, praised Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his administration on Sunday for introducing the state’s caste census, which they said was a “first step towards justice.” According to Gandhi, the only way to guarantee that all societal segments participate fairly in the prosperity of the nation is to conduct a caste census. “The first step towards justice is the caste census.” Because it is hard to create appropriate strategies for any civilization if one does not know its social and economic state. Gandhi remarked in a Hindi post on “X” that the only way to guarantee that every segment of society participates fairly in the development of the nation is through a caste census.He praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Telangana administration for making the initial move in the direction of justice. Reddy had stated on Saturday that, as per the people’s pre-election promises, the Telangana government would soon begin a caste census. According to an official announcement, Reddy gave the order to initiate measures for conducting a caste census while presiding over a meeting on problems pertaining to minorities, the lower classes, and tribal care ministries. The chief minister also instructed authorities to create budget estimates for the “Kalyanamastu” plan, which will give girls from BPL families one tola of gold and cash support totaling Rs one lakh when they get married.He gave authorities instructions to assess the amount of money needed for all kinds of government-run social hostels.
