LG Sinha virtually joins PM Modi’s launch of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’

SRINAGAR: Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of Jammu and Kashmir, participated virtually in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Wednesday "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra" launch in Ranchi. The L-G participated virtually in the event at Srinagar's Raj Bhawan. The Sankalp Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir began at Budhal, Rajouri Gurez, and Bandipora. The launch function was attended by the public, government representatives, and institutions of Panchayati Raj. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Modi for initiating outreach initiatives in the tribal districts of Bandipora and Rajouri, in keeping with his declared goal of attaining saturation of flagship schemes.He also praised the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra initiative, which aims to assist the underprivileged who are eligible to be enrolled in various schemes but have not yet benefited from them. "This endeavour of the central government, with the objective of reaching the unreached, to generate awareness about tribal, rural and urban schemes, to interact with beneficiaries and enrolment of potential beneficiaries, will make a significant contribution in the socio-economic empowerment of the tribal community, poor, deprived and weaker sections of the society," the Lieutenant Governor was quoted as saying in an official announcement. The Lieutenant Governor reported on the initiatives taken by the UT Administration, spearheaded by Prime Minister Modi, to ensure the well-being of the tribal populace.According to him, the administration has made tribal welfare its top priority since August 2019 and has started a number of cross-sectoral projects aimed at empowering the tribal communities in J&K and UT. According to Sinha, the administration has made major progress towards the overall well-being of tribal communities. In order to address the focus areas for tribal districts under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, such as the eradication of sickle cell anaemia, enrollment in EKLAVYA, scholarships, titles to forest rights, self-help groups, and Van Dhan Vikas Kendra, he called for a combination of efforts from citizens, stakeholders, community leaders, social organisations, and administration. He instructed administrative staff members and district commissioners to concentrate on achieving individual forest rights saturation. Through video conference, beneficiaries from Rajouri and Bandipora thanked the Lt Governor for the welfare programmes and shared their experiences. On this occasion, the 'Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat' pledge was also given out. The outreach initiatives in the other districts will begin during the third week of November. For overall coordination, a control room has been established at the district and UT levels, along with a route plan for the IEC Vans. 38 died 20 injured as bus falls into gorge in Doda

DODA: In Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Wednesday, a bus carrying passengers skidded off the road and rolled down into a 300-foot gorge, inflicting at least 38 fatalities and injuring 20, according to officials. According to reports, the bus with registration number JK02CN-6555 was carrying 58 passengers when it skidded off the Batote-Kishtwar national highway near Trungal-Assar and fell 300 feet downhill. According to the officials, a rescue operation has begun, and some bodies have been recovered. There will probably be more deaths. A police spokesperson stated that the bus was travelling from Kishtwar to Jammu when the accident happened at Trungal-Assar at approximately 11:50 am.Lieutenant Colonel Suneel Bartwal, the Public Relations Officer (Defence), said in a statement that 38 people were killed in the incident, of whom 32 were initially pronounced dead and 20 injured. "In a commendable display of promptness and coordination, the Indian Army, in collaboration with civil administration, conducted a swift rescue operation in response to a grievous accident on National Highway 244 at Assar, near Wani Mod, approximately 4 km from COB ASSAR towards Batote," according to him. According to Bartwal, the bodies are being transported to the Doda Civil Hospital and the Assar Primary Health Centre. He also stated that there were 58 people on board the unfortunate bus at the time of the incident. 37 people were slain and 19 injured, including four who were taken to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu, according to a statement made earlier by Doda Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh. "This is a regrettable occurrence. The accident was allegedly caused by the bus not being driven on the correct side, Singh stated at this point. The bodies of some of the deceased will be given to their relatives after they have been identified. "We examined every detail of the car. Perhaps it wasn't being driven correctly. The car rolled down after jumping over the crash barriers, according to Singh. He said there will be an investigation into the incident. I was deeply saddened to hear of the tragic bus accident in Doda, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed many precious lives. In the gorge where the bus accident occurred, the local government is in charge of the rescue effort. On X, Shah expressed, "My sincere condolences to the families of the departed and prayers for a quick recovery for the injured. The bus sustained severe damage as a result of the fall from a significant height, according to sources. They added that some of the injured passengers have been transported to hospitals and that the rescue effort involves not only locals but also members of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and police. Four of the injured were airlifted to the GMC hospital in Jammu after they were initially taken to a hospital in Doda. The rescue effort is being immediately overseen by high ranking police and civil administration officials. According to the officials, the bus was carrying more passengers when it rolled into the gorge after overturning during a "U" turn. They also said that after some sections of the bus were cut away, the bodies were removed. According to the officials, some of the bodies had severe mutilations. Residents voiced concern about the state of the road, claiming that it not only contributed to this accident but also to a number of other tragedies in the past. NEW DELHI: A chargesheet has been filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against two accused in the Jammu and Kashmir terror conspiracy case, which involves plans to disrupt communal harmony and peace in the Union Territory through acts of terror and violence. One of the accused is a national of Pakistan. The accused named on the charge sheet are Muhammad Dilawar Iqbal alias Maaz Khan Kashmiri alias Maaz Khan alias Maaz Kashmiri alias Azad Kashmiri, a resident of Abbaspur, Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), and Mohd Ubaid Malik of district Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir. The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code have been used to charge both of the accused."The duo were involved in a criminal conspiracy to carry out terrorist activities in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir by unleashing attacks on security forces and so-called 'outsiders'," the National Investigation Agency (NIA) stated. Dilawar, a close associate of Chief Maulana Masood Azhar Alvi of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), was involved in inciting young people in Kashmir as part of a larger plot to carry out terrorist acts and activities in the area, which was hatched by banned terrorist organisations and their affiliates. NIA investigations have shown that Ubaid's decision to enlist in the JeM militant ranks was inspired by Dilawar. "Militant youth would be encouraged to fight for Jihad by Dilwar by showing them radical Islamic doctrines being preached by Maulana Masood Azhar Alvi and inflammatory audio and video clips.Additionally, he would incite young people to take up guns by sending them videos of incidents that occurred in the Kashmir Valley, according to the anti-terror agency. On June 21 of last year, the NIA suo motu registered the terror conspiracy case. The case concerns the plot by terrorist organisations to use small arms, sticky bombs, and improvised explosive devices to carry out violent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. The terror groups are supported by Pakistan and aim to commit acts of terror and violence in the region. The case deals with the radicalization of young people in the area and the mobilisation of overground members of recently established terrorist organisations, including Kashmir Tigers, PAAF, The Resistance Front (TRF), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), and United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir (ULFJ&K). These groups have ties to terrorist organisations that have been outlawed, including Al-Qaeda, Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), and Al-Badr. "Investigations in the case are ongoing with NIA continuously working to expose and thwart the bigger conspiracy of the terrorist organisations to revive terrorism and disturb peace and communal harmony in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir," stated the National Investigation Agency. Sopore, Nov 14: Following a strange discovery that government workers were running street vending stalls in Sopore, north Kashmir, during work hours, the administration decided to withhold their salaries.
