“Ranks in Indian Navy to be renamed as per Indian culture”: PM Modi
SINDHUDURG: The Indian Navy will rename its ranks in accordance with Indian culture, according to a Monday announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "With the emotion of feeling pride in our heritage, I am proud to announce that the ranks in the Indian Navy would be renamed as per the Indian culture," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Navy Day celebrations in Sindhudurg. We are also attempting to strengthen the position of women in our armed forces. I would want to express my gratitude to the Navy for designating the nation's first female commanding officer aboard a military vessel." In his congratulatory message on Navy Day to the Indian Navy, Prime Minister Modi stated that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj understood the value of strength found in the seas."Greetings to all of the Navy family members. Having magnificent Sindhudurg Fort to meet me on Navy Day is a blessing. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was aware of the significance of the sea's power. He explained that his catchphrase was, "The most powerful person is the one who controls the sea." The Prime Minister went on to say how pleased he was that navy officers' epaulettes would bear an emblem of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's army. "Thanks to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the country is progressing and eschewing a dependent mindset. I'm glad that our naval officers' epaulettes will now display a glimpse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's legacy. A new epaulette design will feature an army of Shivaji Maharaj.I consider it a blessing that I was able to link the Navy flag to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's legacy," he remarked. Prime Minister Modi emphasised that people have overcome the politics of pessimism and made a commitment to advance in all spheres of life, saying, "This vow will take us towards a developed India." This pledge will restore the sense of pride this nation so richly deserves. India's history is more complex than its 1,000 years of slavery, oppression, and failure. India's past is one of triumph, bravery, knowledge, science, art, and our prowess in the sea."Rajnath Singh stated earlier today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritised the Indian Navy's operational demands, something he did not do in the past. "A decade ago, it was believed that the threats faced by the country were only land-based," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, speaking at the Navy Day celebrations in Sindhudurg. We are inspired by the action on December 4, 1971, when our missile boats destroyed the Karachi harbour. The Navy is dedicated to upholding national security and meeting public expectations."
