SRINAGAR, Jan 29: For the next 24 hours, authorities in the upper regions of two districts in the Kashmir Valley have issued an avalanche warning classified as “low danger.” A “low danger” category avalanche is predicted to happen in the next 24 hours at elevations of 2600 and 2800 metres above sea level in the upper portions of Kupwara and Ganderbal districts, according to a report released on Monday by the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA). It has been recommended to the residents of these locations to exercise caution and stay away from avalanche-prone areas until further orders. On Monday, there was mild to moderate snowfall in the upper regions of the Kashmir valley, including the districts of Kupwara and Ganderbal.
