JAMMU: Div Com Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting of concerned Deputy Commissioners to review the arrangements in view of yatra suspension due to bad weather conditions.The Jammu Div Com asked how many yatris were housed in Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Ramban, and Udhampur, five of the division’s districts. The competent Deputy Commissioners informed us that there are approximately 6000 yatris housed in Yatri Niwas Chanderkote- Ramban, 600 in Udhampur, 6000 in Jammu, 1200 in Samba, and 1100 in Kathua district. The Div Com instructed the concerned DCs to make their respective districts more accommodating and to provide constant electricity and water supply to the lodgement centres.The Jammu Division Com asked how many yatris were housed in Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Ramban, and Udhampur, five of the division’s districts. Avny Lavasa, Deputy Commissioner for Jammu, Rahul Yadav, Deputy Director for Planning, Munish Dutta, and other concerned officers were present for the meeting. Through video conference, the Deputy Commissioners for Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, and Ramban also took part.
