SRINAGAR, Jan 12: On Friday, Jammu recorded a minimum temperature of 3.7 degrees Celsius and Srinagar reached minus 4 due to extreme dry cold. Jammu saw its lowest minimum temperature of the season on Friday, at 3.7, and its lowest high temperature, on Thursday, at 8.8. The minimum temperature was minus 4 in Srinagar, minus 3.2 in Gulmarg, and minus 5.3 in Pahalgam. The lowest temperature in the Ladakh region was minus 11.5 in Drass, minus 9.2 in Kargil, and minus 11.2 in Leh town. The minimum temperature was 3.7 in Jammu City, 6.2 in Katra, 4.5 in Batote, 1.3 in Bhaderwah, and minus 0.4 in Banihal.Here, the severe winter cold will last for 40 days, beginning on December 21 and ending on January 30. Kashmir has not experienced any snowfall during this typically snowiest time of year. The Meteorological Department stated that the weather forecast is quite depressing because it is unlikely that any significant snowfall would happen before January 25.
