UDHAMPUR: officials said on Wednesday that a father-son duo drowned following flash floods in a stream as they were heading for a wedding function in Udhampur district.According to the authorities, Paras Ram (45) and his son Sangam (13) were crossing the Kunju stream on foot late Tuesday night after heavy rainfall in the catchment region when they were washed away by a powerful flood. They said that a passing motorist raised the alarm, sparking the beginning of a rescue effort that included police and teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). According to the officials, Ram’s body was pulled from the stream this morning after frantic efforts, while the search for his son’s body was still ongoing at the time of the last reports.
