JAMMU A land department official has been suspended by the Jammu and Kashmir administration for breaking regulations pertaining to the transfer of officials within the Union Territory. “Pending enquiry into his conduct, Abdul Hafiz Shah, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records, Anantnag, is hereby placed under suspension, with immediate effect in terms of Rule 31 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.” Sanjeev Verma, Commissioner-Secretary, General Administration Department, stated in a Monday order. Shah stated that he will continue to be affiliated with the Divisional Commissioner’s office in Kashmir while on suspension.His acts were not specifically mentioned in the order, which resulted in his suspension. Official sources claim that Shah was suspended at the Chief Secretary’s request for breaking regulations pertaining to the transfer of certain officials. Hilal Ahmed Mir, the Project Officer for Wage Employment in the Kupwara district, was also relieved of his duties by the administration and assigned to the General Administration Department. “Pending inquiry into his conduct, Hilal Ahmed Mir is hereby attached with GAD with immediate effect,” a GAD order stated. The Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service is where both officials are employed.
