KULGAM: According to a press release issued by J&K police on Monday, Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir, RR Swain, visited Kulgam, examined the district’s security situation, and presided over a high-level meeting of police, army, and CAPF officers. The J&K DGP addressed the officers and emphasised the importance of people-friendly policing in preserving a safe and tranquil environment.DGP RR Swain emphasised the significance of people’s roles in the current situation and urged the officers to develop more efficient procedures, maintain public safety, and address elements that are detrimental to peace. He also emphasised the importance of fortifying the system that allows stakeholders at various levels to share intelligence inputs. According to the press release, the J&K DGP stated that the masters of terror in Jammu and Kashmir and their stooges across the border are desperate to disturb the current peace in the region. He went on to say that cowardly attacks on defenceless civilians and military personnel show how frustrated terror handlers are with their inability to maintain peace and order in J&K.According to the official statement, the DGP further instructed the officers to keep up the fight against terrorists and those who support them, and to keep a close eye on any suspicious individuals in order to foil their malicious plans to disturb the tranquil atmosphere. The press release also stated that DGP RR Swain gave the officers orders to improve and reinforce the security grids in their respective regions for the general public’s safety and security, as well as the protection of vulnerable populations.
