SRINAGAR: LG Sinha addressed the 12th Residential Meet of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) members in public service at Srinagar.The Lt Governor appreciated the ICAI members’ significant contribution to the development of the country. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has made substantial contributions to policies, government, and business since its foundation in 1949, according to the Lt Governor. “Accounting is not just about the balance sheet; it also involves creating a solid framework for the nation’s socioeconomic development, the speaker said.. According to the Lt Governor, ICAI has consistently assisted various regulatory organisations and government institutions in the implementation of crucial policies linked to inclusive development so that India can advance more quickly and its economy grows stronger. ‘Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has risen to become the fifth-largest economic force in the world, and both the public and private sectors have accepted new ideas. According to him, this has given people new energy and confidence to advance the socioeconomic sectors in new directions.The largest organisations and businesses in the world have expressed faith in India’s future as a result of sensible economic policies. The Lt Governor said, “I am pleased that ICAI is actively participating in this journey and setting the best global standards.” Our commitment to creating Atma-Nirbhar Bharat is acquiring new vigour. The power and potential of the villages have been realised as a result of the changes to bring the rural economy up to par with the cities, he continued. The Lt Governor further emphasised the crucial part that chartered accountants play in social transformation and in ensuring the welfare of those at the bottom of the development ladder. “Today, the role of Chartered Accountants is not limited to maintaining the financial market’s credibility, discipline, and investors’ and shareholders’ confidence, but they are also ensuring expenditure on development programmes, ensuring every penny of the government coffers should reach the needy people,” the Lt. Governor said. The Lt. Governor presented the changes made by the UT government to create an inclusive, transparent, efficient, and accountable governance system at the meeting. “The life of the typical person in J&K have substantially improved thanks to BEAMS Empowerment.2019 has made it possible for us to work 10 times more quickly than in the past. Young people’s ambitions and resolutions have changed, and according to Amrit Kaal, J&K is on par with developed states in terms of several development-related metrics. The Lt Governor reaffirmed his commitment to providing for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and stated that the site for the centre of excellence has been found and will be distributed soon. The ICAI President, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, thanked the Lt Governor-led UT Administration for responding to their request for the allocation of land for the ICAI’s centre of excellence in Jammu and Kashmir.
