NEW DELHI, Nov 2: On Thursday, Tata Motors announced that as part of the Srinagar and Jammu Smart City projects, it will provide and run 200 electric buses in both cities for a period of 12 years. Tata Motors said in a statement that the company has delivered the first batch of Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Srinagar Smart City Ltd through TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, a group entity. The statement went on, “The delivery of the electric buses is a part of its bigger order to supply, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses for the Srinagar and Jammu Smart City projects over a period of 12 years.“This marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to safer, smarter, and greener mobility solutions, and we look forward to playing a key role in shaping the future of public transport in Jammu & Kashmir,” stated Asim Kumar Mukhopadhyay, chairman of TML Smart City Mobility Solutions (J&K) Pvt Ltd, in response to the delivery of the first batch. According to Tata Motors, it has provided more than 1,000 electric buses to various Indian cities to far, with an overall mileage of over 9.6 crore kilometres and an uptime of more than 95%.
