SRINAGAR: The higher altitudes of Jammu and Kashmir are expected to have widespread intermittent mild to moderate rain and snowfall from October 14–18, according to weather forecasters on Wednesday. In the next 24 hours, mostly clear weather was predicted, while on October 13, “partly cloudy becoming cloudy” towards the evening was predicted, according to a meteorological department official. “There is possibility of rain/snow over higher reaches towards night at scattered places of J&K.” From October 14 to 18, he predicted widespread intermittent mild to moderate rain and snowfall over higher reaches with a probability of over 75%. Significant temperature drops were anticipated across the board throughout these days. Additionally, the weatherman department has advised farmers to delay harvesting their crops from October 14 to October 18. Transportation may briefly be disrupted, he said, particularly in sensitive areas like Zojila, Mugal Road, Sinthantop, and Sadnatop.
