LEH: According to officials, the Army carried out a demining operation in three locations within the Leh district and removed 175 mines. Locals in Ladakh who live along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) requested that this be done, hence it has been done. Santosh Sukhadeve, deputy commissioner for Leh, wrote on X, “On behalf of Phobrang, Yourgo, and Lukung villagers, we thank the Fire and Fury Corps for their prompt action in fencing and clearing the area by successfully destroying over 175 mines.” He claimed that by taking this firm action, the villagers’ safety worries had been positively handled, reinforcing the Ladakh region’s solid civil-military relationship.
