JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya oversaw a meeting today to assess the state of the district’s health system. Strategies for strengthening Primary Health Centres and Community Health Centres were a major topic of discussion. The DC emphasised the crucial part these hospitals play in ensuring the prompt provision of medical care throughout the district, hence reducing the need for patients to go to Jammu city or other far-off hospitals for treatment.The meeting also covered important topics such staff jobs, hiring medical staff, and the accessibility of expert doctors. In order to lessen reliance on tertiary hospitals, the DC underlined the importance of outfitting primary and secondary healthcare facilities to provide a wide range of medical services. Strict directions were given to weed out any unprofessional behaviour inside the healthcare system in an effort to promote professionalism, timeliness, work ethics, and adherence to duty timings. The group also discussed the incidence of lower segment caesarean sections and promoted thorough counselling to preserve proportionate delivery practises. To maintain uninterrupted services, the Deputy Commissioner advised a careful review of the medication supply chain and stock in healthcare facilities.
