Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Pays Obeisance at Ancient Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday paid obeisance at the ancient Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir at Sarkoot in Kishtwar and prayed for peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

During his visit to the historic temple, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with public representatives and local residents and took note of their concerns and developmental demands.

Responding to a key demand raised by the local community, Manoj Sinha directed the district administration to initiate appropriate measures for the rejuvenation and restoration of the pond adjoining the temple premises.

The move is expected to help preserve the heritage and religious significance of the shrine while improving the surrounding environment for devotees and visitors.

The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly; Shagun Parihar, MLA Kishtwar; Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar; and other senior officials during the visit.

The ancient Shri Gauri Shankar Mandir is one of the prominent religious sites in the Kishtwar region and attracts devotees from different parts of the district
