JAMMU: Anand Jain, an IPS officer, accepted a new position with the Government of India and took over as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Jammu, replacing IPS Mukesh Singh, who served as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), for the same zone. Anand Jain is an IPS officer from the J&K cadre’s 1999 batch, and he previously held the position of Director of the J&K Anti-Corruption Bureau, according to the official announcement. “Prior to that, he had held various important posts in J&K as well as during deputation which includes Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ganderbal SP East Srinagar, SSP Baramulla (twice), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Provision/Transport PHQ, SSP Reasi, SSP Rajouri, SSP Jammu, Commandant, India Reserve 15th Battalion and multiple other posts,” according to the press release. According to the official announcement, IPS Mukesh Singh, the departing ADGP for the Jammu Zone, received a heartfelt send-off from the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) staff. The official release continued, “DIG JSK Range recognised ADGP Singh’s remarkable service during his more than four years of tenure as Zonal Head during the sending-off event.
