RAMBAN: A 21-year-old man lost his life after the car he was driving rolled down a deep gorge on the Nachilana–Badarkoot link road in the Ramsoo area of Ramban district late Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Wasim Ahmed, son of Mohammad Qasim Gujjar and a resident of Hingni, Ramsoo.
According to police officials, Wasim Ahmed was the sole occupant of the vehicle when it reportedly skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge several hundred metres deep, resulting in his death on the spot.
Following the incident, the body was retrieved and shifted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ramsoo on Wednesday morning for medico-legal formalities.
After completion of the necessary legal procedures, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
