KATRA: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan”, Reasi Police achieved another success by recovering heroin from a person during naka checking at Nomain Naka in Katra.
Police said that during routine naka checking and frisking at Police Check Point (PCP) Nomain, a person coming from the Jammu side was intercepted by the police party. During personal search, approximately six grams of heroin, commonly known as Chitta, was recovered from the pocket of his trouser.
During preliminary enquiry, the accused was identified as Shubham Bhandari, son of Munish Bhandari, resident of Afghan Mohalla, Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
In this connection, FIR No. 161/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been taken up.
Reasi Police reiterated its firm commitment towards eradicating the drug menace from society and appealed to the public to cooperate with police by sharing information related to drug peddling and narcotics activities in their respective areas.
