BARAMULLA: Security forces achieved a major success in North Kashmir after a joint operation in the Nilsar Kandi area of Baramulla led to the recovery of a significant cache of explosive ammunition.According to official sources, the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorist-related material in the area.The joint operation was carried out by Jammu and Kashmir Police, Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force.
During the search operation, security forces recovered 14 rounds of OG-7V Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) ammunition and nine rounds of PG-7P Rocket Propelled Grenade ammunition.Sources said the recovery has thwarted a potential threat and marks a significant achievement in the ongoing anti-terror operations in North Kashmir.
The recovered ammunition has been seized for further investigation, while a case has been registered under relevant sections of law.Senior officials praised the coordinated efforts of the joint forces and said such operations reflect the strong synergy between police, Army and paramilitary forces in maintaining peace and security in the region.
