JAMMU: A rusted anti-tank mine and a grenade were found at different places in Samba and Poonch districts on Saturday, police said.The mine was discovered by a farmer in the early hours of the morning near Poolpur post near Basantar on the International Border in the Samba region. It is thought to have been planted more than 20 years ago as a component of an anti-infiltration barrier system. The professionals of the bomb disposal unit reportedly informed the army and detonated the mine in a controlled explosion.Officials reported that a corroded hand grenade was discovered close to the Dakhi bridge in the Mendhar sector of the Poonch district and that a bomb disposal team neutralised the weapon. Police also removed a balloon in the shape of a jet from Hiranagar sector, which is close to the International Border in the Kathua district. According to officials, a black-and-white balloon bearing the insignia of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) crossed the border and came down on this side.
