Jammu, Mar 30: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday visited the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, marking her first appearance in the House since 2018.
Mufti was seen seated in the Speaker’s gallery during the proceedings of the House.
Her visit comes after a gap of nearly seven years, following the collapse of her government in 2018. The coalition government led by the PDP came to an end after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) withdrew its support.
Mufti’s presence in the Assembly drew attention, as it marked her return to the House complex after the political developments of 2018 that has been seen as important point in J&K history while analysts says that developments reshaped the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
