POONCH: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accompanied by Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmed Rana, visited Kalaban village in Mendhar where massive land sinking and landslides have wreaked havoc.
The disaster has displaced hundreds of residents and caused extensive damage to homes and property.
The Chief Minister took stock of the situation, interacted with affected families, and assured them of all possible support from the government.
He directed the administration to expedite relief and rehabilitation measures, ensuring that displaced residents are provided with shelter, rations, and medical aid.
Local authorities have already begun preliminary relief operations, while assessment teams are working to evaluate the extent of the damage and losses.
