KATRA: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh of Jammu and Kashmir stated on Tuesday that the peaceful environment in Kashmir has not changed as a result of the Kokernag encounter and that it is still quiet. However, he asserted that firing first is always advantageous, and in Kokernag, terrorists fired first, killing three officers as a result. The Kokernag encounter hasn’t altered the situation in Kashmir, according to DGP Dilbag Singh, who was speaking to reporters after opening a modular police station in Katra, Jammu. The situation is still calm, just as it was before the meeting with Kokernag.I am aware that the Kokernag encounter has been exaggerated by some parties with a stake in it, he remarked. He claimed that starting the fire first is usually advantageous. “It works to our favour when security forces fire first at the terrorists. Two army soldiers and a police officer were killed as a result of terrorists waiting for the forces in Kokernag and taking advantage of the first firing, the DGP stated, adding that the operation, which lasted seven days, was successful. “We eliminated Uzair Khan and his accomplice, two dangerous LeT terrorists. Since it was challenging to track down and find the terrorists hidden on a sizable mountain, I’m proud of the security forces teams who took part in the operation. The police and security forces are dedicated to eliminating terror from J&K territory, according to the DGP. The remaining terrorists are being pursued, and they will soon be destroyed, he vowed. According to the DGP, police have tripled their efforts to combat narcoterrorism. “Look at the arrests, FIRs, and cases registered with regard to narco-terror,” he commanded. The DGP claimed that the brand-new Katra police station will better serve Mata Vaishno Devi devotees. The old police station in this area was in disrepair, and it was decided a few years ago that it was urgently necessary to establish a new one. Today, he added, we are dedicating it to the people.
