BHADERWAH: The three-day historic Mela Patt at Bhaderwah was successfully finished thanks to Lord Vasuki Nag Ji’s heavenly blessings. The J&K Dharmarth Trust collaborated with Dashnans to plan the event, which received support from the neighbourhood, in accordance with the directives of the Hon’ble Chairman Trustee and Trustees. On September 18, 2023, the Rajpurohits of Bhaderwah led the big Jhaari Shobha Yatra, which marked the beginning of the Mela Patt. This amazing occurrence signalled the start of a trip that was spiritually enlightening. The Dashnan Committee, made up of ten families in charge of the cherished duties related to Lord Vasuki Nag Ji, conducted rites on September 19 in the home of Rajgurus where the precious Jhaari was mounted on the customary Patt.By adorning the Patt with wonderful decorations, the locals of Mohalla Khakhal demonstrated their undying commitment and increased the grandeur of the occasion. As multitudes flocked to take part in the Mela Patt celebrations, the following days of September 20, 21, and 22 saw a lively celebration full of commitment and fervour. The community was united by the reverent prayers for Lord Vasuki Nag Ji’s blessings and the joyous celebration of cultural traditions. Brigadier R.S. Langeh (Ret. ), President of the Trust, stated that this event is not simply a representation of religion but also of shared brotherhood and a proud, individual heritage.Perhaps this is the only event in India that has been held for 600 years without any unfortunate or unwelcome incident, demonstrating the region’s communal harmony. Inviting all followers to participate in the celebration of faith and unity, he stated that the Trust is still dedicated to preserving and fostering these precious traditions. The Dashnan Committee, inhabitants of Mohalla Khakhal, and the District Administration of Doda have all received gratitude from the Trust’s secretary, Ashok Kumar Sharma (IPS Retd), for their significant efforts. Their steadfast assistance, dedication, and work in setting up necessary details and publicising this hallowed event were crucial to its resounding success, he continued. He also praised Arjun Singh, the Trust’s Manager in Bhadarwah, and his crew for their efforts in ensuring the success of the Mela.
