Leh/Jammu, Jul 7: Two civilians stranded on the Khalsar-Shyok belt following land and mudslides in Leh district were rescued by the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF), officials said on Monday.
The landslides and mudslides had blocked the Khalsar–Agham–Shyok Road, a key axis connecting Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso.
A vehicle carrying two tourists got stuck in the area due to land and mudslides, trapping both individuals. Moreover, the risk of further slides remained high, they added.
The men and machines of the BRTF unit rescued the duo from the dangerous zone, moving them to a safe location, they said.
A BRTF personnel sustained minor injuries in the process.
