MUMBAI : The most significant items on the agenda of the opposition INDIA alliance’s conference here, according to National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday, would be how to win the 2024 elections and the platform on which the elections will be contested. The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir told reporters shortly after arriving in Mumbai that a final game plan for opposing the BJP needed to be formulated. He added that by September 1 it should be known either who will serve as the convenor of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) or whether one is even necessary. He said that the Jammu-based Panthers Party would also be present in the alliance meetings on August 31 and September 1. The top priority would be figuring out how to win elections, as it would be our main platform. The Constitution, the nation’s sense of brotherhood, and how to mend the divide caused by religious differences will also be discussed, according to Abdullah. He dodged a question about whether seat-sharing negotiations will take place. Abdullah responded that LPG cylinder prices should be further decreased when asked about the Centre’s decision to reduce them by Rs 200.
