8 vehicles involved in illegal Mining seized

JAMMU: A team from the Mining Department led by District Mineral Officer Dr Gulshan Kumar confiscated eight trucks used in the illegal mining and transportation of minerals from various locations throughout the Jammu District.

A tractor trolley with the registration JK02CV9720 and an excavator (JCB) with the registration JK02CP7354 were confiscated at Kathar and given to the officer in charge of the police post Chowki Chour.

Similar to this, a dumper with the registration number JK02BU9287 was seized at Sangani Maira Mandrian and turned over to the SHO of Police Station Akhnoor. A tractor trolley with the identification number JZUDU516492S3 was also seized in the Kangar Ring Road area.

Following their seizure in the Surya Chack neighbourhood, two tractors with trolleys having the chassis numbers MBNGAALDBNRJO4602 and RNJJ2GCA5461 were delivered right away to the officer in charge of the police post Phalian Mandal. Two tractor trolleys were also seized in Khandwal Chatha and given to the Police Post Chatha’s In-Charge for safekeeping.

Authorities also discovered illicit sand stockpiles of 500 metric tonnes and 200 metric tonnes of boulders during the operations in Kathar and Maira Mandrian.

Strict warnings were issued to those participating in this criminal conduct, advising them not to engage in the stockpiling and dumping of minerals again.
