On 77th Independence Day, the Burj Khalifa lights up in Indian tricolour

DUBAI: On Tuesday, in honour of India’s 77th Independence Day, the iconic Burj Khalifa was illuminated in the tricolour. The highest skyscraper in the world also displayed the phrases “Long Live India UAE Friendship” and “Happy Independence Day to Mother India” in addition to the tricolour. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Jai Hind’ were also quoted, along with a photograph of Mahatma Gandhi.Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, sent his best wishes to India on Twitter in the meantime. “I would like to express my congratulations to the government and people of India as they mark their 77th Independence Day. In celebration of this momentous milestone, the UAE confirms its dedication to forging ahead with our alliance, taking it to new heights, and exploring new avenues of political, economic, and cultural ties. Swatantrata Diwas, Happy Independence Day,” he tweeted.
