NEW DELHI : On the eve of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered those who perished during the division of India and paid tribute to those who perished.
In reference to the widespread racial violence that occurred at the time of the partition, he added that it is a time to remember the Indians who lost their lives during that conflict.
In paying tribute to them, he noted that this day also serves as a reminder of the suffering and struggle endured by people who were forced to migrate.
August 14 would be celebrated as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, Modi has declared in 2021.
