SRINAGAR, Aug 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha claimed at a large “tiranga” rally organized here on Sunday that the youth of the state love the national flag.
In an apparent reference to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, Sinha stated that those who claimed that there would not be anyone left in Jammu and Kashmir to raise the tiranga should have seen the turnout at the rally while taking part in the Independence Day celebration rally.Without naming any individuals, Sinha said: “They would have understood that every youth in Jammu and Kashmir loves the national flag as much as people from any other part of the country. They used to say that there will not be anyone left in Jammu and Kashmir to raise the tiranga.”
Before Article 370 was repealed in 2019, the PDP president warned that if Jammu and Kashmir’s special status was removed, no one would be left to hoist the flag.
“Jammu and Kashmiri people are being praised today across the nation. Some individuals find it difficult to accept that we are merging the power of the people and directing development toward the poor and disadvantaged, he remarked.”The youth of Kashmir were formerly misled, but now they are helping to develop Jammu & Kashmir and the nation. Each of us should be happy about this. Let us band together to give Jammu and Kashmir its rightful place as India’s crown jewel, he continued.
Sinha claimed that he was pleased and happy that rally attendees included not just members of the administration and security forces but also regular Kashmiri citizens.
“I believe and feel that honoring the tricolor is honoring the nation and the valiant troops who gave their lives for it. People now recognize that everyone has a responsibility to protect the tricolor and help the country advance. I believe this to be the major shift in Kashmir,” he said.
A well-known athlete, Kuldeep Handoo, praised the administration’s efforts and claimed that the demonstration had promoted togetherness among the populace.
“Children and adults, security personnel and citizens—everyone is walking together to develop our nation. The key message here will be that India and we are in this together, according to Handoo.
Jahanzeb, a different participant, argued that the demonstration was good for Kashmir.Such activities ought to take place on every Independence Day. We are a part of India, and if these actions had been performed sooner, we may now be in a better position.
