SAMBA: The JKP on Sunday said it has nabbed from Samba district a key accused in an attack on a police party in April, making it the eighth arrest in the case.According to a police spokeswoman, Farman Ali, alias “DC,” a resident of Rakh Barotian, was allegedly involved in the attack on the police party that was going to arrest suspected drug dealers on April 6 near his hamlet. The spokesman added that Ali, a prominent heroin trafficker, constantly changed his identity and whereabouts to avoid capture. He was apprehended by a police party from Vijaypur.Benam Tosh, the senior superintendent of police in Samba, promised to bring all of the attackers’ criminals and smugglers to justice. The officer said that a case was filed at the Vijaypur police station in accordance with provisions of the Indian Penal Code. Police are undertaking searches and raids to apprehend the suspects in the case while conducting investigations in a highly professional manner. Eight suspects have so far been successfully apprehended by police, and more have been identified who will be detained shortly, according to the SSP.
