Army chief calls on LG Ladakh, discusses LAC situation

LEH: Winding up his four-day visit to the UT of Ladakh, Army chief Gen Manoj Pande called on LG of Ladakh Brig (Retd) B D Mishra at Raj Niwas Leh and discussed with him the situation prevailing along Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh.While meeting with the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, the Army commander was accompanied by General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 14 Corps, Lt Gen Rashim Bali, and Northern Command commander Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi. The conference is supposed to have included a significant discussion of the situation along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh, according to the sources. According to a tweet from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier General (Ret.) B D Mishra was called by General Manoj C. Pande, the Chief of Army Staff. Another tweet stated that “they discussed a variety of topics pertaining to the defence of the Line of Actual Control and general security.” During his four days in the Union Territory of Ladakh, Army Chief Gen. Manoj Pande celebrated the Kargil Vijay Diwas at Drass with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Service heads, and other Army Commanders. Later, he toured the Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battleground, the 14 Corps headquarters in Leh, and forward locations along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh to assess the military readiness and the current situation. The Army’s top general is back in New Delhi.
