SAMBA: Traffic on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway was suspended for over an hour following the detection of a suspicious bag outside an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Wednesday.At Maheshwar, the black bag was discovered in the late afternoon lying beneath a highway flyover. As a precaution, the area was sealed off by army and police troops, and a bomb squad was called in to check the bag. This forced the stoppage of highway traffic. According to the officials, the bomb squad discovered some garments and other personal items in the luggage.Nothing (incriminating) was discovered there. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (Samba) Benam Tosh, traffic on the motorway has resumed. Due to the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, “all security agencies are (on) alert, and anything found suspicious is being checked thoroughly in accordance with standard operating procedure,” according to Tosh.
