JAMMU: Today at the DL skill test ground in Khanpur-Nagrota, Transport Commissioner, J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara, carried out a thorough examination of driving tests and vehicle fitness as part of a coordinated effort to improve road safety and guarantee the welfare of drivers. The TC was accompanied on the occasion by Pankaj Bhagotra, the Regional Transport Officer, Jammu. The Transport Commissioner kept a careful eye on the ongoing testing during the inspection, offering insightful observations about the procedures. Notably, the Commissioner provided important directives and instructions meant to enhance on-site facilities and guarantee increased openness in the assessment processes.The thorough examination, which took nearly an hour, comprised painstaking evaluations of the vehicles’ roadworthiness and driver competency. The TC recommended that when administering the DL skill test, the ARTO and MVIs consider the drivers’ compliance with traffic laws, their capacity to manage different types of road circumstances, and their general driving proficiency. Concurrently, a thorough inspection of the cars was conducted, with particular attention paid to vital parts including the tyres, brakes, lights, and general mechanical state. Finding possible safety risks and confirming that cars complied with roadworthiness requirements were the objectives. The significance of these inspections in promoting safer roads and lowering the probability of accidents is emphasised by the Transport Commissioner. During the inspection, MVIs Surinder Kumar and Jasbir Singh, Esha Chib, and the ARTO Board of Inspection were also present.
