JAMMU: The Railway Board‘s chairman and chief executive officer, Jaya Varma Sinha, visited this location in-depth to assess the USBRL Project’s progress. During the inspection, other senior officers in attendance included Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager/Northern Railway; Sandeep Gupta, CAO/USBRL; Sanjay Gupta, CMD/KRCL; V P Singh, PCE/NR; U. C. Joshi, PCOM/NR; and Sanjay Sahu, Divisional Railway Manager/Firozpur. Jaya Varma Sinha started his inspection in Katra and proceeded to Tunnel No. T-33 (formerly known as T-1). She carried out a motor trolley inspection before doing a thorough on-foot inspection of the crucial work still being done on Tunnel T-33. She noted the excellent job being done by the project team despite the extremely difficult geological conditions and advised them to adhere to all safety precautions.In order to link the Katra-Reasi segment, Jaya Verma gave the project officials instructions to speed the completion of balance works. She proceeded with the motor trolley inspection of Tunnel T-34 (formerly T-2) and went on to inspect track, E&M, S&T and RE works. She was satisfied with the calibre and advancement of these works as she passed via Anji Bridge, Reasi Station, Bakkal Station, Chenab Bridge and the Dugga railway station. CRB met with representatives from NR, KRCL, and IRCON to discuss the USBRL project’s progress at the Chenab Bridge site. The CRB expressed satisfaction with the project’s pace of work and instructed the project authorities to keep a close eye on all remaining work, particularly the Sawalkote yard and Tunnel T-1 projects, to make sure there are no delays.
