New Delhi, Feb 5: On Monday, a bill was presented in the Lok Sabha with the intention of amending the legislation pertaining to local bodies in Jammu and Kashmir. On behalf of Home Minister Amit Shah, Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home, introduced the bill. The Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act of 2000, the Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Corporation Act of 2000, and the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act of 1989 are all intended to be amended by the Jammu and Kashmir Local Bodies Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024.
