DODA: Police said on Tuesday that 8 people were killed and 17 sustained injuries after three vehicles plunged into deep gorges in Doda and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir in separate incidents. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his deep sorrow over the deaths caused by the incidents, while local MP and Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated he is in constant contact with the relevant authorities and has promised full support to the families of the victims and survivors. According to Additional Superintendent of Police for Bhaderwah Vinod Sharma, Ghulam Nabi (47), Vinod Kumar (50), Firdous Ahmed (28), Barkat-ullah Hajjam (52) and Sher Chand (69) were all killed when a car rolled down 250 feet into a gorge near Chattergalla top on the Bhaderwah-Pathankot national highway.He said that 12 further passengers in the car, which was heading to Bhaderwah from the Bani neighbourhood of the Kathua district, were rescued with injuries and taken to a hospital. A rescue operation was quickly begun by police and residents after a group of tourists at Guldanda Meadows observed the truck rolling down the hill and raised an alarm. Mohammad Afzal and Mohammad Azmat were killed when their automobile veered off the road and plummeted more than 200 metres down a gorge near Rampari in the Ramban area, according to officials. They claimed that Shabir Ahmad Malik, a second individual who was badly hurt in the incident, had been transported to a hospital by the rescue crew.The Lt.
