5 Held For Unauthorised Extraction Of Forest Produce In Kishtwar

Jammu, Jan 7: In Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Sunday, five people—two of whom were from Nepal—were taken into custody on suspicion of taking forest products without permission, according to the police. Five bags containing significant amount of forest produce were found after police team stopped car in Gulabgarh, according to police spokesman. He added that the car was seized and that five people were taken into custody: Nawang Sentam of Kabban-Paddar (Kishtwar), Kshitij Bhutani of DelhiMahaver of Uttarakhandand two citizens of Nepal, Sagar Tamang and Gan Magar, who are currently residing in Dehradun. According to the spokeswoman, case was filed at police station Atholi under pertinent legal sections, and an investigation is currently underway.
