Will be “off-grid” for few weeks: Omar after back-to-back legal setbacks

SRINAGAR: In response to two “deeply disappointing” days, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah announced on Tuesday that he will go “off-grid” for few weeks. However, he pledged to return early in the upcoming year to face challenges, including two elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister reportedly mentioned the Supreme Court‘s reaffirmation of Article 370‘s repeal and the Delhi High Court’s denial of his request for divorce from his estranged wife Payal Abdullah in lengthy post on X. “Who said that the most important thing is not how hard you can hit someone, but rather how hard you can get hit and keep going forward? Even though the past two days have been extremely discouraging on both personal and professional level, won’t give up and hide. Every year at this time, take some time to spend with the people love, recharge, and get stronger. “I’m taking few weeks off from social media,” Abdullah wrote in the post. According to him, he will return early the following year “fighting fit” and prepared to take on the challenges of 2024. I’ll be back early in the new year, energised and prepared to take on all the challenges that 2024 will bring, including at least two J&K elections. The conflicts and battles will go on,” he continued. The Supreme Court’s decision on Monday to uphold the Center’s August 5, 2019, decision to abrogate Article 370, which granted the former state special status, disappointed but did not depress Abdullah.
