Vaishno Devi Temple in Katra records highest number of pilgrims in a decade

KATRA: Over 95 lakh pilgrims have arrived at the sacred cave shrine of Vaishno Devi in the Trikuta Hills of Katra town in the Reasi district this year, the most in the previous ten years. Thus far this year, approximately 94.35 lakh pilgrims have offered their respects to Goddess Vaishno Devi. The year 2012 saw the greatest number of pilgrims ever make the journey—1 crore lakh 9, thousand, five hundred and sixty-nine devotees visited the sacred shrine. Prior to 2012, when crore lakh, thousand, and hundred and sixty-nine devotees visited the hallowed temple, the highest recorded number of pilgrims was observed.
