Unmanned testing aircraft operated by the DRDO crashes in Hiriyur Taluk, Karnataka

CHITRADURGA, Aug 20:According to sources, on Sunday, a Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO)-built unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fell in a village’s agricultural fields.
The UAV-TAPAS crashed outside the village of Vaddikere in the Hiriyur Taluk.
The DRDO drone was reportedly conducting a test flight when the event took place, according to reports.
Officials from the DRDO were unavailable for comment.
Videos and pictures demonstrate how the TAPAS experimental UAV broke after the accident, leaving its inside components all over the field.
Soon after the UAV crashed with a loud thud, many residents gathered at the scene and called the local police.(Agencies)
