NEW DELHI: In connection with writing pro-Khalistan inscriptions on the walls of at least five Delhi Metro stations ahead of the G20 Summit, the Delhi Police has apprehended two people, according to officials on Thursday. The two people were detained from Punjab by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, according to police spokesperson Suman Nalwa. A different officer reported that their questioning had begun. On August 27, pro-Khalistan messages with the slogans “Delhi Banega Khalistan” and “Khalistan Zindabad” were discovered on the walls of the metro stadiums in Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar, Udyog Nagar, and Maharaja Surajmal Stadium. Defacing was also discovered on the wall of a government school in Nangloi.The banned group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) allegedly produced a video showing the graffiti on the walls of metro stations. “G20 nations, when you will be meeting in Delhi on September 10, we will be organising a Khalistan referendum in Canada,” SFJ spokesperson Gurpatwant Singh Pannun had stated in the video. In various parts of west Delhi, including Vikaspuri, Janakpuri, Paschim Vihar, and Peeragarhi, “anti-national” and “Khalistan-related” graffiti surfaced on walls on January 19 ahead of Republic Day, according to police.
